SIG shareholders reject auditors appointment

Posted on

The shareholders of SIG, a UK buildings materials group, recently rejected the reappointment of auditors. More than 78% of the shareholders voted against Deloitte’s reappointment. In February 2018 SIG discovered profit misstatements after a whistle-blowing allegation. The board said it would carry out a tender for a new auditor.

Auditor re-election is usually one of the least controversial aspects of an AGM with most resolutions getting over 95% approval.
