The IFC’s Africa Corporate Governance Program (AfCGP/Program) works to promote good corporate governance practices in the Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) region. As part of this program, the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi, Ghana and the IFC have just signed a cooperation agreement to cooperate to co-develop modern educational modules to address emerging Governance issues that will further strengthen corporate governance practices within Ghana. Under the partnership, the IFC is providing technical assistance in introducing Governance courses/syllabi and participating in discussions with stakeholders to facilitate the review process. The IFC is also providing capacity building support in adopting the new syllabus. Dr Chris Pierce, CEO of GGS, is the consultant working for the IFC on this project and made a keynote presentation on the Business Case for Corporate Governance at the launch of the partnership in Kumasi on 1 February 2017.
