
The Arab Regulators’ Conference took place at the Marriott Downtown Hotel in Abu Dhabi on the two days 8-9 March 2017. The conference was hosted by the Arab Monetary Fund in collaboration with the Union of Arab Securities Authorities, the OECD, the IFC and the GCC Board Directors Institute (GCC BDI). The conference was an opportunity for regulators, bankers, and board directors to engage in an open dialogue on how to strengthen the development of corporate governance across the region. The conference focused on strengthening and enhancing the corporate governance of financial institutions and companies in the Arab region, with the theme “Building Bridges with Boards of Directors”.
The conference was attended by over 160 delegates from 17 countries. Dr Chris Pierce participated in the event as a moderator and panelist on both days, contributing in the panel discussions on the subjects of: Corporate Governance Codes; and the G20/OECD Principles of Corporate Governance: Strengthening the Regulatory Framework.
